The Star Ingredients

Here’s what goes into my favourite winter kadha — made entirely from Orgatma’s organic pantry:

1. Turmeric (Haldi) – The Golden Healer

Turmeric, especially Orgatma’s organic turmeric powder, is rich in curcumin, a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound. It helps fight infections, boosts immunity, and gives your kadha its signature golden glow.

2. Ginger – The Fire Within

Fresh or dried ginger adds a sharp, spicy warmth that stimulates digestion, clears sinuses, and helps detoxify the body.

3. Tulsi (Holy Basil) – Nature’s Immunity Shield

Tulsi leaves are known for their antibacterial and antiviral properties. They calm the nerves, strengthen respiratory health, and balance the doshas.

4. Black Pepper – The Immunity Activator

A pinch of black pepper enhances curcumin absorption from turmeric, making your kadha more potent and effective.

5. Cinnamon – The Winter Comfort
6. Clove – The Germ Fighter
7. Honey – Nature’s Sweet Touch

Cinnamon adds a comforting aroma and helps regulate blood sugar levels while keeping your body warm during cold days.

A few cloves add depth of flavor and work as a natural antiseptic that soothes the throat and wards off infections.

Once the kadha cools slightly, add a spoon of organic honey for sweetness and throat relief. (Remember, never add honey to hot liquids!)

How to Make It: Step-by-Step Kadha Recipe

Ingredients:
  •  cups water

  • ½ tsp Orgatma Turmeric Powder

  • 1 inch Ginger (crushed)

  • 4–5 Tulsi leaves

  • 2 Black Peppercorns (crushed)

  • 1 small Cinnamon stick

  • 2 Cloves

  • 1 tsp Orgatma Honey (optional, add after cooling)

Method:

  1. Boil water in a pan.

  2. Add all the spices — turmeric, ginger, tulsi, pepper, cinnamon, and cloves.

  3. Let it simmer for 10–12 minutes until the water reduces slightly and turns golden brown.

  4. Strain the kadha into a cup.

  5. Once warm, stir in a spoon of Orgatma honey.

  6. Sip slowly, inhale deeply, and feel the warmth flow through your body!
